Giving Life A Little Spark

A party might not seem like much, but to some people, it represents a break from the everyday troubles that they deal with. When people arrive at an event, all they want to do is sit back, chat with friends, and have a drink. Unfortunately, if your event doesn't give them the opportunity to do one of those things, your party might just feel like an uncomfortable, unnatural waste of time. My blog is dedicated to helping other people plan better parties. I hope that after you check out this blog, you can make your next birthday party, wedding reception, or other get together really special.

Post Base Features That You Want In A Retractable Stanchion System

When you need to rent a retractable stanchion system to help with crowd control for an upcoming event of any type, it's wise to visit an event rental company that carries an extensive selection of this kind of equipment. The more products that are available to you, the more you'll be able to assess your options to find what will work best. While your initial focus might be on the appearance of the retractable belts, don't overlook checking out some posts—and, in particular, the design of the bases. Here are some features that are handy in the post bases of a stanchion system.

Round Shape

You can expect to see post bases in a few different shapes. Some are square, while others are round and even octagonal. A lot of people find that round is the best shape for the bases of their posts. By not having corners that jut out, the post bases won't be a trip hazard. The people at your event won't always be looking down as they navigate their way around the stanchion system, and someone who makes contact with a round post base is far less likely to trip than someone who catches their foot on the corner of a square base.

Handles

The bases of the posts can be heavy, which is ideal because it reduces the likelihood of a post tipping over when someone bumps into it. The heavy weight can be a slight challenge when you have to carry the post bases around your event venue when you're setting up and taking down the stanchion system. It's ideal if you choose post bases that have handles. Typically, these bases will have one or more notches cut in them that provide spots for you to hold. This makes it easier to move the post bases around.

Wheels

Wheels aren't present on every post base you see, but there are certainly a lot of post bases that offer this feature. Typically, the wheels are mounted on the side of the base so that when you tilt the post, the wheels will make contact with the ground and allow you to drag the post with ease. If you're renting posts that remain attached to the bases rather than come apart, you'll want to choose a design that features wheels.

Visit an event rental company, such as VIP Crowd Control, to look for a retractable stanchion set for your upcoming event.
